UNHCR, the United Nations refugee agency, has partnered with Right To Play, Nike and Microsoft via MSN to launch a global awareness campaign, ninemillion.org, to provide education and sport for the world's 9 million refugee youth.

Donations raised through the campaign will support learning and play through:
  • access to education and IT skills training
  • access to customized sport and play programs
  • gender sensitivity and peace education programs for war-torn communities

Help them play, let them learn.
I moved here with my family in 2000.
My family is planning to move to the United States,
but I would like to return to Myanmar some day. My favorite football player is Ronaldo. I like to play
football because it makes me happy and strong.

15 days
After realizing the word "refugee" means nothing to many, the ninemillion.org team headed to three different regions for 15 days to discover the people behind the word. Their range of experiences showed them that, while culture, age and race varies from place to place, refugee children's love of learning and play is universal.
